We are shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic death of the two valiant soldiers who died in the line of duty, while implementing the Protection of Civilians mandate.
On behalf of the Officers, Service Members and the entire Contingent of KENBATT 24, I wish to convey my deepest condolences on the sudden death of the two fallen heroes.
I sincerely pay tribute to their bravery and ultimate sacrifice. Together with the rest of UNMISS Community, we are mourning the loss of the two soldiers. They not only served and exemplified patriotism for their own Country, but they also went an extra mile to serve in the International community as peacekeepers.
Kindly accept our heartfelt sympathies.
May their souls rest in eternal peace

Rhetorical Analysis of “The Hurting Heroes of 9/11 ” In the article “The Hurting Heroes of 9/11” (Sept. 16, 2016), Leah McGrath Goodman claims that those who helped with the rescue of the 9/11 attacks continue to die even 15 years after the attacks happened. Goodman supports the claim by using statistics and actual people who helped with the rescue of 9/11 who have some health issues that they are suffering over the last 15 years. Goodman has written this article in order to inform readers of the devastating numbers of people that have passed away since this event happened 15 years ago which helps to establishe a personable relationship with Newsweek Global readers who remember watching or rescuing those who had fallen in these attacks and reminds us that this day will forever haunt our nation. Goodman emphasizes the importance and the value that life has through her choices of diction, rhetorical choices, and the structure of her article.…

Veteran: a person who has served in the military. That’s the definition that Google gives you when you type it in, but to me a veteran is more than that. I come from a military family. Words like loyalty and respect are commonly used in my home especially when it comes to describing my father and my grandfather, both veterans who have given up their time to serve this nation. Due to my father serving overseas, I know how it feels to wake up in the morning, walk down the hall, and expect to see a warm smile welcoming you to the kitchen, but instead find that it is not there.…

Is the government really granting veterans the health care and resources they need in order to survive once they arrive to their home land? Do you think that maybe just maybe the government focuses way too much attention towards funding the military instead of troops that have returned with some kind of disability or mental issue? I believe that the government is making a huge mistake on how they are granting health care towards a big group of individuals who fought for our country and for them not to be able to receive the proper care is a disgrace. These veterans should be established the best of care just for the simple fact that they have fought for our freedom and have gone through tough situations, which could be death related. The government as well does not offer enough…

For me, this wednesday carries a special personal significance as I go through 7th grade. This previous wednesday was Veterans Day, an opportunity to thank those men and women who have served in the U.S. military. It would seem that Americans, and young people in particular, have a hard time relating to veterans, let alone celebrating them, and for good reason. Our culture today increasingly portrays veterans as a group of mostly conservative, uneducated, ornery white men afflicted by a variety of mental illnesses and unemployment. While problems such as mental illness and veteran unemployment are real, the stereotypes they perpetuate do not present an accurate illustration of the veteran population as a whole, which is made up of countless…
