Veterans Pros And Cons

Through the years when veterans return home they are either treated as heros or outcasts. These men and women often have trouble finding jobs and some even need some form of treatment. With the lack of veteran programs most of these people do not get the proper aid they need when they return. A large number of them have trouble finding jobs to pay for the medical attention they desperately need. Veterans are discriminated against by the lack of programs to support them.
Currently there are very few programs to aid veterans. The programs that do exist offer very little coverage leaving with very little options. Some of these programs offer pensions that at the highest pay around $20,000 per year.(10 Veterans Benefits) Though this may seem like a large amount of money when medical bills, a mortgage, and everyday expenses are added in this money gets used up fast. When the veteran passes the family that he or she has left behind receives even less money. Most veterans are honored with guns being fired and a folded American flag being presented to the family. Though all these benefits are wonderful they come at a cost. The more government programs that are created means the increase in taxes for the American people. For most people this is not acceptable since taxes are already so high.
