We urge the committee to pursue broader legislation that would apply to civil servants in other federal agencies. Multiple investigations into allegations regarding the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), conducted by the VA Inspector General, confirmed allegations of long wait times and falsification of scheduling records. The VA’s main goal is to provide essential medical treatment to veterans who have served in the military. After enrolling in the VA system veterans provide their financial information, which is then used to determine priority ranking among veterans (Zezima 2014). Department guidelines stipulate that patients are supposed to see a doctor within 14-30 days of the processing of this requisite paperwork.…

We all know that when exiting the service, we don’t always receive the best advice. No one really knows what comes next. Some of us tried to be proactive and explore for best action possible. It is not fair for those proactive Veterans wanting to explore our service and cant because they don’t qualify until it’s too late or in…

I believe I did not fully apply all of my learning objectives while at the Wellness Center. One of my objectives was to increase the efficiency of the center by applying the knowledge I was going to be learning. Despite that I learned many theories and concepts about how organizations work, I was not able to make ample applications due to the lack of opportunities. One primary anticipation I had of the Wellness Center was to be given new job duties and responsibilities beyond what is given to ordinary student assistants.
