Veterans Day is one of the most well respected holidays in the U.S. Veterans day is a day to honor our troops. No country has ever achieved as much as the United States has. The U.S. would have never increased into the amounts of protection towards our freedom and justice it is today without the sacrifices our heroes have made. Our heroes risk their lives not only at war, but at home. While our veterans are out fighting for our freedom, they cannot be at home supporting and making great memories with their families. Veteran: a person who has served in the military. That’s the definition that Google gives you when you type it in, but to me a veteran is more than that. I come from a military family. Words like loyalty and respect are commonly used in my home especially when it comes to describing my father and my grandfather, both veterans who have given up their time to serve this nation. Due to my father serving overseas, I know how it feels to wake up in the morning, walk down the hall, and expect to see a warm smile welcoming you to the kitchen, but instead find that it is not there.…

Veterans are a group of people that write a blank check totaling their life to the government. They fight to defend our country and every American citizen. Then when their service is done they come home to be unnerved and underappreciated. Veterans are: mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and friends. The main thing we should do is make them known to others, so they know that we are there for them and let them know their service is more than appreciated, and we should let them know that and not let them be forgotten.…

Federally, a veteran is someone who has served in ANY war, in ANY branch of military for ANY length of time. If you served in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps or Navy you are considered a veteran. I believe that someone who can fight for strangers , people they don't even know, along with their own family even if they only served for a week, a year, twelve years, deserves more respect than anyone.…
