Veterans Day Importance

Decent Essays
Why is Veterans Day important to our country?
Did they saved the world, did they fight for me?
I really don't know what to say,
But we must honor them on this peaceful Veterans Day.

We win the battle, but not the War.
Sometimes I believe “Can their be no more!?’’
Through honorable men must pass away,
Men are still remembered on Memorial and Veterans Day.

When I think of the Preamble, I think of Veterans Day.
How they fought in wars, and made treaties to keep us safe again.
We really wish you are safe once more,
So we won't have to cry hearing you are no more.

So why is Veterans Day important to our country?
Because it reminds us who served in our sanctuary.
Veterans Day is important to you and me,
So I hope you would want to celebrate

Veterans many times keep what they see during combat to themselves rather than sharing their stories with others. “For most people in combat, experiences range from the best of times to the worst of times” (pg. 81). Junger later explains that not letting veterans’ expresses their true feelings only hinders them. That they should be allowed to share their feelings on a day dedicated to them, Veterans Day. He states that some may say their experiences were the best thing to ever happen to them yet others may be so upset for what they endured they won’t make sense.…

The question being asked of me is “Why Veterans are Important to Our Nation’s History and Future?” Veterans are important to me because I live with two of them and I have a lot of them in my family. Without them, I wouldn’t know the reason why we have people sacrificing themselves for our country. My Grandpa, Roy Noble, always said that “War is not good but fighting for our country is,” I didn’t really understand that until I realized without them we wouldn’t have a free country. Britain would have taken over and we would have a queen instead of a president, or something like that.…

Most people think of Veterans Day as a day off from school or work, well they are wrong. Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S Military Veterans. It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went to effect.) Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day.…

America is the land of the free, because of the brave. Americans enjoy many freedoms because of the democracy our ancestors fought very hard to establish. Freedom summarizes what being an American is about, but it’s not what an American is. An American is someone who is brave enough to do something even though the punishment is severe, someone who sees opportunity and stops at nothing to achieve it, and someone who doesn’t take the easy way out. Bravery is part of the definition of an American.…

Pete Hegseth once said “ Memorial Day isn't just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that's a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It's a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it.” It is important to defend your beliefs because positive statements rather than negative statements about others will be most effective.…
