Animals are humans best friend, but everyday animals get very sick and severely injured, so they need medical attention as soon as possible. Animals are multiplying dramatically, and they need help taking care of themselves. Animals in dog shelters need to find homes fast because the shelters are getting overcrowded and sometimes there is not much room to accept dogs anymore. Animals are a big part of people’s lives today, and people need them just as much as they need humans. Therefore, Veterinarian’s need to fix up animals, give them help when they need it and provide them with a perfect home. Sheldon, before people go to Veterinarian College they have to take a Veterinary College Admission Test (VCAT), the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), on their test people have to make a satisfactory score and it also depends what college people go to. Admission in a vet college is extremely competitive and only best of the best get into college. Vets can do heavy course work in science and mathematics, even additional courses work in English, Social Studies, and business to help out per-veterinary students. After people are done with veterinary school, some students complete a one-year internship in a particular specialty and a two through four-year residence program that leads to board certification in a specialty (Greenland, Sheldon). This internship can help vets out when they are done with college and are trying to find a job somewhere they want to work at.
