Studying mathematics as one of my A levels will benefit me greatly as veterinarians are required to make critical mathematical calculations before operating on an animal. For example making an insertion on an animal in the wrong place could result in the severing of an artery or nerve which could render the animal lame. William presents with a combination of physical, cognitive, and psychological symptoms. His poor coping skills have also made him susceptible to depression and drug abuse. Although it is evident that William’s situation is exacerbated by a type1 trauma brought on through his exposure to combat while in the Army, his readjustment issues are also perpetuated by a traumatic brain injury (TBI), as his symptoms include anxiety, memory loss and dizziness. Treatments options for William should start with addressing his socio-economical status as he’s been chronically homeless for quite some time. Exploring a veteran residential program that includes harm reduction as an evidence base practice, can be an incentive for William as he is still ambivalent about his drug use.…

My interest in the veterinary field began when I was six, when I arbitrarily announced I was going to be a veterinarian simply because I loved animals. This said there has been 2 constants, and one new addition to my career direction. I have always been interested in Oncology, and Pathology, in some ways these two disciplines do complement each other, and right now I am seeking to explore postgraduate training as either a Veterinary Oncologist, or a Veterinary pathologist. The final choice will be by reflected on my experiences as a veterinary student, and by taking at advantage of summer fellowships, as well as additional elective rotations in these subjects, and related subspecialties.
