Hello,my name is Rory and I live nearby Verona river. Verona riverknown for its nice sandy beaches and cool beach parties, can also be a dangerous place if you're not careful. Verona Beach is also known to be the main route truckers use to deliver their goods. Truckers are lonely and can also be dangerous people when drunk. One night I was sleeping calmly in my bed when I heard knocking on the door, the knocking was so powerful,in fact, that it managed to break trough my doors. I got out of my bed, startled, scared for my life. When I managed to get downstairs I saw a large overweight, bearded man with a trucker's hat walking around in my hallway, almost dead from drinking,he stank my whole house up. By insignificant back alleys and little-trod lanes, Johnny made his way to the ferry slip in North Boston. From there to Charlestown boats were going back and forth. No civilian except only the Boston doctors, who had offered their services, were allowed close to the Wharf. It was well Johnny had thought to not put on Pumpkin’s uniform. Mrs. Bessie had been right about one thing.…

It gets stupidly hot in Danielsville, Louisiana, especially around summer. This would be fine I guess if we had something to do, to keep our mind off of the heat but there isn’t anything to do. Danielsville, Louisiana has three churches (Pentecostal), twice as many bars, one high school and no books stores or libraries. This means you’re either too drunk to read, or too Christian to read anything good. Big enough to have a mayor’s house, but not big enough to be on any map of any kind, it’s the kind of town where everyone knows your name and basically everything about you.…

One day in September a friend and I decided to explore a path by my house I’d never walked on before. The trail was about 200 yards south of my house. As we walked towards the entrance of the trail we discussed what our lives were like before high school, recounting the memories that defined who we were. There was a sign that greeted us at the entrance reading “Nancy Eschbach Forest River Trail”.…

He was bigger than the average man and had a beard that reached his chest. It was apparent he hadn’t taken a shower in a while and he didn’t appear to have a home. Immediately everyone, including me started to judge him and we doubted he would buy anything. We thought he was just trying to find a spot to hang out for the day, but he did eventually make a purchase. He ordered an ice cream cone and proceeded to take out a small tea set and put it next to him, at this point it hit us like a train going full speed around a corner.…

As I drive, I took in my surroundings. The dark sky, slowly turning light, spread above Orlando like a blurred glass, with silhouette of leafless branches of apple trees as cracks disrupting the eerie winter whiteness. The contrast is astounding. Mysterious, yet beautiful. Something so known to me.…

THE MOIST AIR absorbed into her skin and made her hair even more frizzy. She looked over shoulder, to see a group of people gathering around a large bonfire. She skipped over, her fingers wrapped around her opposing wrist as she watched people let out hollers as some girl winced, her wrist band falling into the flames making them roar even higher into the dark sky. Summer watched as they popped wristband after wristband off. She picked at her lips with her fingers, anxiety crawling up her throat, hoping they didn't force her to remove hers.…

A godly aurora uplifts the wooden box, covered in chipping shades of bumblegum pink and gentle blue, from it’s present state on top of my dresser, as it forever holds the jewels of my past. In search of nostalgia, the contents of this unusual box are shrewn across the sheets of the queen-size bed in which I lay; one earring, one bracelet, one partially broken chain, yet they somehow belong there, despite the distinct differences between these memory-deriving ornaments. Within this miscellanous container, lies a special necklace with a dolphin charm, that always conjures up memories of Coney Island before it’s Great Renovation. It takes me back 5 or 6 years to the day I was twirling through this amusement park; rides blurrily passing by my eyes,…
