Verbal communication can be defined as the process of relaying messages with the help of words and sound. This includes speaking, writing letters, emails etc.

My parents immigrated to the United States from India, given that I was born and raised in the United States I never took it upon myself to learn my native tongue. I ‘ve traveled to India a couple of times to visit my grandparents, and I found it extremely difficult to communicate with them. Fortunately for me, my grandfather and most of my relatives spoke English, while I need my parents to translate for me to help converse with my grandmother.     So, what exactly is non-verbal communication, it’s sending and receiving messages through the usage of kinesics, proxemics, paralanguage; and haptics. In the case study between Mark and Lynn, Mark exhibited a couple of these non-verbal cues; one of them was accenting, another was contradicting; and lastly was repeating.
