The definition and importance of non verbal language When we think about communication, exchange of the words is the first thing we remember. The exchange of words is only one type of verbal language. Non-verbal language is as essential at least as verbal language. If we focus on the evaluation of communication skills we see that humans used non-verbal language before the verbal language skills. But it does not mean non-verbal language is separate from verbal language. Both of them are tools of the same system, communication system. The total importance of a message is represented like this:

2. The types of non-verbal language and their impact on business communication
2.1. Kinesics
The word kinesics comes from the root word “kinesis”, which means “movement,” and refers to the study of hand, arm, body, and face movements.
Kinesics includes personal appearance, posture, gesture, facial expression and eye contact. Personal appearance plays important role, because before people talk you they see you. Appearance may be clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, hair. Posture generally refers to the way how we hold ourselves when we sit, stand or walk.
