Verbal Irony is the most commonly used out of the three types of irony and more recognizable. There are two types of verbal irony, overstatement and understatement. Overstatement in when when a person exaggerates the character of something. Understatement is when someone under exaggerates something. Sarcasm is also a version but there is a difference. Sarcasm is a insult most of the time while verbal irony is just a different meaning than what is actually said. There is a lot that goes into being verbal irony but a fine line between what is and isn’t.
