The statues are similar in which they both depict the form of humans and are detailed enough to depict features such as hands and feet along with features of their faces being and both are holding objects in their hands. The statues however differ in the builds of the person they are representing with the Sumerian statues showing the humans as having a slightly weaker build as shown by their arms while the Neo Sumerian statue is a lot more muscular and more defined in its upper body. The objects they’re holding differ drastically in which the Sumerian statues are holding measly cups while the Neo Sumerian is holding a jar which has water overflowing onto him. The Neo Sumerian statue also had some inscriptions on it which are lacking on the Sumerian statues. These statues manage to communicate different ideas since the Sumerian statues in their forms give the appearance of commoners who are trying to give something to someone and they give the appearance of a commoner due to their weaker build while the Neo Sumerian statue’s form gives the impression of someone of importance due to how it presented as someone with strength and along with the fact the jar it's holding is overflowing with water seems to indicate this statue is again someone …show more content…
A stele is a carved stone slab used to mark graves or to commemorate historical events. In the Akkadian stele it shows that the people are looking up to someone possibly a king and there are people at his feet and appear to be begging for their lives and the man standing proudly appears to be a powerful figure if he is so feared and worshipped. On the Babylonian stele there are similarities in the fact that there is a powerful figure in it which appears to be a king who also seems to be respected however that's where the similarities end since the figure depicted is talking to another individual which is the only other figure in this stele and the king seems much more wiser and relaxed when compared to the figure in the Akkadian stele in which he seeks much more power since it seems to show the dominance of the king and how much power he commanded over people which doesn't appear in the Babylonian stele and finally there is text in the Babylonian stele which comprises most of it while the Akkadian is comprised mostly of other human beings and lacks text.
