This relationship is often portrayed as strained and difficult but we are also shown a more pleasant side to it as well. The film has a documentary feel to it due to the use of a hand held camera, diegetic sound and a lack of music which is usually seen in films. Many techniques are used throughout the film to represent the relationship between François and the class including the use of dialogue and filming styles. Both the pupils and teachers from Entre les murs are pupils and teachers in real life (Day 2009)…

The two lovers enjoy each other’s company when Venus explains, “I will tell, and you will wonder, at the monstrous result of an ancient crime,” and proceeds to tell why Adonis should be wary of naturally armed wildlife. Through her story of Atlanta and Hippomenes, a young man can win against the fastest woman alive in order to marry her, with the help of Venus. With no gratitude towards his helper, Venus eventually gets revenge by turning the sinning couple into lions. Etiologically, I understand the this as a lesson to encourage appreciation when receiving help and not to remain self-absorbed. I see further Etiology when Adonis does not take caution around a wild boar and dies.…

In this story many of the children on Venus are jealous of Margot’s opportunities and previous life on earth. When children are jealous, they turn against Margot. One example is when she is reading the poem, instead of listening to Margot the students shut her down without even listening. Just because students are jealous it does not mean that they can bully Margot. While this is important theme it is easily seen that if it weren’t for Margot not thinking about what she said or did that this wouldn’t have happened, so overall the important point is that it is needed for everyone to take a minute an think about the results in the end from what they…
