She was moved into a new area in a new role as the same job and it sounds like the room was underventilated with an air conditioning vent directed into the office. She noticed that during that time, she started having a dry cough that was explosive in nature, often with talking and there was also some associated shortness of breath and wheeze. She was also noticing that she was taking her Ventolin once to twice per day with only temporary resolution of her symptoms. Outside of work, she than noticed the re-emergence of asthma symptoms at night and has been taking Ventolin almost every night and occasionally up to twice a night.
It does not appear that there are any other obvious triggers for worsening asthma control. She has no constant post-nasal drip, no GORD symptoms and there are no pets at home. She has had one or two viral infections this year, but the viruses resolve quickly.
With regards to her asthma management, she has been on preventers in the past and it has always been Flixotide. Whilst this helps, she does not like the Flixotide due to the vocal cord irritation and hoarse voice, which obviously impacts upon her in her role at work. She had spent some time away from the work environment with a three week trip to China, but still noticed symptoms over there with the ?? pollution and the fact that she had an U???
