In this society, the amount of ways to be dieting is endless. Some people choose to eat a Vegetarian or Vegan diet. Being a Vegetarian means a person does not eat any meat, where as a Vegan diet means a person does not eat anything at all that comes from any given animal such as meat, eggs, and dairy. It is a tough life style to live but some people truly believe it is the right way to live. The way animals get treated in some situations at factories and other places of the like is extremely inhumane and should be handled differently. “Though beef consumption spiked upward during the flush 90′s, the longer-term trend is down, and many people will tell you they no longer eat the stuff” (Pollan). “Factory farms allow us to be removed from taking personal responsibility for raising our own food. There is no one to be held accountable for raising garbage food or treating animals inhumanely because the system has taken on a life of its own” (Mercola). There are definitely many reasons as to why Factory farms are not a good idea for today and tomorrows generation. Factory farms can be incredibly abusive to the animals obtained in them. There are many ways that animals such as cows, pigs, chickens and the like get abused in such horrible ways. They get crammed into very small spaces with no room to move, or sit down, and they even get skinned alive in some cases. It is horrible that people are so careless about how the animals at the factories get treated. It is as if the people who work at the Farm factories do not think twice about the possibility that animals have any feelings. These kinds of situations show how in this society, everything comes back to being about money. The people who work on Farm factories probably do not care at all about the animals they are killing, but instead that they are making money. “I think the quality of life before death is more important than determining the time of death” (Stoop).
