I am sorry to break this to you girls, but you might not be eating as healthily as you think. We spoke to experts at Harvard recently and we’ve got some bad news. If you’re eating meat, chances are you’re at a higher risk for heart problems, diabetes and even cancer.
Doctors are recommending that vegetarianism is the way to go.
A vegetarian, is someone who chooses not to eat meat. This is often confused with a vegan, who does not consume animal products.
People become vegetarians for a number of reasons, for some people it is due to religious beliefs, whereas others have moral stances that make it hard for them to eat meat.
There are myths floating around that you won’t have enough iron or protein in your diet if you choose to become vegetarian.

There are a number of plant based sources that will supply you with enough iron. Think of those greens! They’re fantastic for your iron levels and are a great source of iron for your diet. You’ll notice after just one week without meat that you’ll feel lighter. A reason for this is that meat takes so long to digest and can even stay in your intestines for a couple of days.
A number of vegetarian nutritionists from the Dieticians Association of Australia recommend that the best thing you can do is eat a balanced diet of grains, fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes to keep your iron intake at a good level.
