The day I made it to varsity soccer

Tryouts started at 6:30pm and ended around 8. My friend Miguel gave me a ride that last tryout. I remember being nervous because It was my last year I would be playing in high school and the only team I was able to play for was varsity.
There was about 115 kids trying out, and 3 coaches looking for kids to play for them. The coaches were able to pick less than 22 players. There was a freshman team, junior team, and a varsity team. The last tryouts, everyone trying out started doing warm ups, running around the field and stretching. There were kids that had been practicing for months before tryouts for them to be ready for what coaches were looking for. I had just came back from a tournament in Arizona, and I was in pretty good shape. two kids that I had known since freshman year had been playing varsity there 3 years so they already know they were going to play.

I got put in with most of my friends and our goaly was Miguel. My friend kept on telling me to score lots of goals because the coach had already looked at me and him I had been playing good. There was only one game left till the final game. Miguel kicking the ball from the goal side to the other side of the field and landing right on my feet, I turned around and hit the ball as hard as I could and scored the winning goal. We were off to the finals. Right when I scored that goal the coach asked me over to talk and told me I had made the varsity team, but it was going to be hard for me to play because there was two other kids that played my position. It was a dream come true for me. I never know I was going to play for the Boulder high Varsity team, and being able to play with my friends that i had known since Elementary school. Everyone was happy i had made it there were friends outside looking at us from outside the fence to see who had made the

It was springtime during the year of 2012, I was just about to start my summer. I was looking on the internet for sports to do in Kaneland, because I wanted to compete at a higher level. But I was not always comfortable with playing on a travel baseball team, but I knew this could be a great opportunity for me, so I took a risk and after all it, payed off. I asked “Dad would you think I would be able to compete and play on the travel baseball team” He smiled “Yes, but one thing I learned when I was young and playing baseball is; it is a game of mistakes, and the only way you can succeed is if you practice over and over to improve.”…
