September 15, 2015: Varsity Girls Volleyball Vs. Excelsior(Needs Edit)

The Varsity Volleyball Girls looked to beat one of their rival schools in their game against Excelsior on September 15, 2015. AAE got off to a fast start in set one as they led 17-7 in no time. This lead was a result of the work from key starters Erin Rose, Carolina Phillips, and Emily Gruver. This quick lead set the team up to win the set 25-9. The second set started off in a similar fashion. AAE jumped to a quick 20-10 lead eventually paving way for Carley Wallenberg's set winning ace bringing about a 25-9 set two victory. In the last and final set, Excelsior surprised AAE by jumping off to a 8-3 lead. However, AAE quickly turned it around by diminishing their amount of mistakes and eventually won the set with a close score of 25-22. Final score: AAE 3 – Excelsior 0.

They faced Apple Valley Christian on Friday, determined to come into the game disciplined to ease their minds of the loss against University Prep. They did exactly this by beating Apple Valley Christian 3 sets to 0. Set one was 25-11, set two was 25-15, and set three was 25-15. #7 Erin Rose and #2 Hanna LoPatriello both had 6 aces and #9 Mary Castillo followed closely behind with 4 aces. #6 Carolina Phillips had 8 kills with #13 Claire Kelly having 5 kills and #11 Carley Wallenberg having 4 kills. Team play was also a dominant factor in the Lady Knight's solid play with #10 Emily Gruver adding 19 assists to the stat line. When #11 Carley Wallenberg was asked what her thoughts were moving forward from the game and continuing league, she responded, "Today we played really well as team, I think our communication is improving and I'm really excited for the rest of league". Final Score: AAE 3 – AVC
