Varsity Athletics Team Analysis

This year has been really special to me because of the amazing opportunity to participate in the Varsity Athletics program. Not only did I receive an overwhelming amount of support and welcoming, but also have learned very valuable lessons from both from my teammates and coaching staff. I’ve better developed many character traits such as honesty and integrity that wouldn’t have been accomplished any other way. These traits are necessary in creating a team bond as it enables the team to support each other even through mistakes, everyone makes them and by realizing these mistakes will only help us develop more positively as individuals it will make it easier then trying to use blame to cover up for these mistakes. This team has also showed me

With an 8-0 record and a combined point total of 217-14, everyone in our district had high expectations. As the seasons changed and the leaves broke apart and disappeared from sight, so did our highly coveted class of 2018. Half of my teammates either open enroll to other schools or just simply quit with no rhyme or reason to why. What would follow within the next three seasons was nothing less of an absolute beatdown from our opponents. I won't lie, it was heart-wrenching to witness all the work us remaining boys put in and to still have no trophy or banner to represent our efforts.…

Every effective sports performance training program is built around a comprehensive needs analysis that ensures the athlete gets the most out of their strength and conditioning efforts. Don Pump Sports Performance, a personal trainer serving clients all over Oahu, explains what a needs analysis is and how they contribute to maximizing the performance of any athlete. Don Pump's needs analysis takes in a variety of factors, including the specific demands of the sport and the position the athlete plays. Baseball, for example, involves short bursts of intense energy, while many track events require a different type of sports conditioning. Even the best coaching often can't take into account the areas an individual athlete needs to work on and…

This class was defiantly worth my time. I learned how to argue without getting upset and being able to see other people’s perspective on a certain topic or issue. I learned the difference between Teleology, Deontology, and Existentialism I actually did not know the exact correct term for them. The way I viewed things I didn’t know I was acting in the manner of Teleology, Deontology, or Existentialism until I got into Moral and Ethical Reasoning class.…

Beginning high school, I was troubled with how I would fit in the community. I was asked to join the broadcast team during the fall of that year. I decided give it a try since I enjoy technology and videography. I was never too knowledgeable about football, nor would I ever imagine myself running the entire show and announcing the games. I believed I solely belonged behind the scenes.…

Basketball was not a part of my life until I was 14. My first experience was not playing a court, but playing with NBA Live. The strategy and dynamics behind the game was captivating, and this inspired me to play with a real ball and real players. I first began playing street basketball with my friends in freshman year. The basics of dribbling, shooting, and passing were difficult for me, especially playing with others that had multiple years of experience.…

Three years elapsed, and with those years gone, so were my hardships. The start of my fourth year marked the turning point for me and what made my final year in high school a memorable one. Unlike the years prior where my opinion didn’t matter, my senior year was when I was finally recognized and praised for my abilities. I felt like I was an asset to the team rather than someone who was just taking up space. I was given first priority when the time had come to pick numbers.…

I still clearly remember the ever so familiar screech of the whistle from coach Edwards. Playing football was always something I wanted to do, but I never thought that I would be able to physically compete with the other kids. I finally decided to go through with my endeavour in the 7th grade. I vividly remember putting on my pads and helmet for the first time on a warm mid-August day. My nerves were radiating off of me as I stepped on to the field for the first time with my fellow teammates.…

The bus pulled up behind the two sets of bleachers and came to a stop as the excitement on the bus died down. This was it. One by one we all marched off the bus and walked to the bench while mentally preparing ourselves for the game that was about to be played. 5Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." This powerful quote by Winton Churchill gives a different perspective the actual meaning of success and failure. Every person lives through ups in downs, successes, and failures. However, everyone goes through successes and failures differently, and every person has a decision to either power through their failures to succeed or to falter from under them. In my case, there was a failure in my life that was particularly unique.…
