Vape Blast came to fruition in March 2014. The plan was simple: We wanted to create a dual purpose event. We wanted to provide education and awareness to the general public. We wanted to teach what this industry is about to non-participants. We also wanted to host exhibitors and create a trade show/convention.
So Vape Blast came to be with 45 exhibitors and 3000 attendees. It was more than we could have dreamed of.
That first event was held in Lewisville, TX, a suburb north of Dallas with a population of just under 100,000. Our little event sold out 3 local hotels (approx. 450 room nights), dozens of travelers rented cars and used taxies. We unintentionally taxed the City of Lewisville’s services, requiring additional dumpster runs, crowed restaurants, bars, shops, parking. Our event, emptied ATM machines within 3 city blocks radius of the event, requiring unscheduled refills. The event was a huge success. After speaking with the City of Lewisville Vistors Bureau, we estimated that event brought ~$700,000 to Lewisville, TX over a 3-day period. Our last event, the 4th, Vape Blast 2015 -2.0 was held in San Antonio, TX, a city with a population of 1,416,000. We had 174 exhibiting companies from nearly every state in the union and 3 countries, with 1000+ exhibitors working the booths. We sold out several hotels, Facebook user groups got together and rented camp grounds, rented houses. Attendees roomed with friends and family in the area. Attendees have stated they plan their vacation and work schedules around Vape Blast. The last Vape Blast event had an attendance of 7006 adults of the age 18+.
