One of my biggest childhood dreams came into fruition a short while ago when I was admitted into Vanderbilt University. The experience so far has been nothing short of spectacular. The core purpose of academia is to guide students to discovering new things about the world as well as themselves. One of the classes I took, Applied Human and Organizational Development, did just that. What I do know is that I want to dedicate my life to providing a voice for the voiceless and giving back to the community that gave so much to me. The three pillars valued by the Welcoming Atlanta office are inherently aimed at the improvement of human life and discovering new solutions to the ever-pressing issues of oppression and inequality. Someday, I hope to find myself in a career with those same inherent qualities as well.
