The Seawall in Vancouver was constructed to protect the foreshore of Stanley Park from eroding. The Seawall is spread over almost nine kilometers and has a paved route along the way. The construction began in 1917 and was completed only in 1980. It is an ideal place to go for a stroll while enjoying the waterfront views. The Seawall is a preferred spot for jogging and cycling. The location of the Seawall and the views it offers has made it the top recreational spot in Vancouver. The Seawall is divided into two sections—separately designated paths for cyclists and joggers.

The main attraction of the Queen Elizabeth Park is the Bloedel Conservatory, which has many exotic and local plants on display in a dome greenhouse. The meticulously landscaped gardens of the park offer brilliant backgrounds for pictures.

English Bay Beach, also known as First Beach, is the most popular beach of Vancouver. There are a number of water sports visitors can participate in at the English Bay Beach, such as kayaking and swimming. There are also spots where one can play volleyball, go cycling, rollerblading or jogging. Other popular attractions at the beach are the inukshuk and the Celebration of the Light Fireworks festival. The shores of the beach are not tainted with commercial exploitation yet and offer a calm ambience for relaxing. The garden is one of the most traditional Japanese gardens in North America and one of the top five in the world outside Japan. The landscaping of the garden has been done carefully to depict a journey through life using various shrubs as symbols to depict the traditional yin and yang balances. The conventional Japanese tea house here holds tea ceremonies during the summer.

The Pacific Spirit Regional Park is a beautiful forested area spread over 763 hectares. The Park has many activities to offer and is an ideal place to visitors seeking a hiatus from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are 73 marked trails in the forest to help visitors explore the entire forest without getting lost. Most of these trails can be explored by cycles or on foot. Pacific Spirit Regional Park is open only during the day and has many washrooms throughout the forest. Wreck Beach, a popular beach, is also a part of the Pacific Spirit Regional Park.
