By reading "The Call of the Wild" by London, I got to see London's values. London is a human being that believes that we humans need to follow laws to be important. For example we have "the Law of Life". Which states that our job in the earth is to reproduce and …show more content…
L'Engle uses "the Law of the Sparrow" which means that you help anyone you can no matter the circumstances. For example they help Kali even though she is bad but they help her in Joshua's sake (L'Engle 258). We then see how the Cutter's won't help anyone unless it will help themselves. L'Engle values the type of person you are (wether you are good or bad). We see how being good or bad can affect you. For example Adam choosing the O'keefe's side (good). Adam chose the good side, therefore making good things happen to him-Marina saving him from shark(L'Engle 191). We also see how since the Cutter's choose the bad side, bad things happen to them-Kali's arm being ripped by a shark (L'Engle 274-277). First we need to value ourselves in humanity. You might just be a simple person that just helps clean the windows in the hospital, or maybe a fast-food worker. This might not seem like much in humanity but it is. If you die who will clean the windows or deliver the food? Yes, you will get replaced eventually. But you are going to throw the whole system off course by you missing in it. You might just do something really non-important but you do matter in humanity. We also need to consider the things we live up-to. Some people live by quotes/slogans. For example a person might do everything in a quotes sake, or take actions regarding a quote. I live up to the quote that says "the lion doesn't concern with opinions of a sheep" meaning that what I do will only concern me and that if people insult me or judge me by my actions I will not care because I am happy with the things I do. My sister lives up to the quote that says "be the change you want to see in the world" meaning that she believes that the change for the greater good begins with yourself and if everyone does the change for themselves we will begin to see the change in the world. Other people live up-to cherish God. For example most of my elderly family takes action or does things to cherish God. They might take food to the homeless, or preach the gospel because they think that their purpose in life is to cherish God. By doing this
