Why Nursing? When I graduated high school, I wanted to have a career in the healthcare field, I enrolled at Valencia College to do a major in Chemistry, because I wanted to complete the pre-medicine requirements in order to attend medicine school. While in school I was working at Walmart, it was a decent job. However, my passion to work on the healthcare field, made me put my pre-medicine studies to a standby, and enrolled in an emergency medical technician program. Health promotion includes illness prevention and health related behavior modification or patients to increase their quality of life, by inhibiting the development of chronic illnesses and limiting possible financial burdens. Research shows that health promotion done by nurses lead to numerous positive health outcomes, including adherence to medical recommendations, improvement in quality of life, and overall increased patient satisfaction (Kemppainen, Tossavainen, & Turunen, 2013).
Vision for myself as a nurse The vision for myself as a nurse is always encourages healing, wellness and creating positive experiences for my patients and their family members. My goal is to always provide the patient respect, make them feel comfortable, and create trust with each other, meet their needs, answer their question, and being an advocate for them. My patients will not experience loss of control during their hospitalization, instead they will always be included in their care plan, and their feedback will be acknowledge, to hopefully convert this hospital experience into a positive experience.

As a nurse I always strive to do morning rounding with the physician on my clients, this ensures that there is proper communication with the physician, nurses, and patients. All concerns and orders are discussed right in the patients’ rooms, and we make sure to include the patient in their care.

To be a healthy and productive nurse one has to maintain proper hydration, take bathroom breaks, and eat during lunch time.
