Now after we saw Weeds point, we can understand better that in today’s economy in the US it will be very difficult for every hard-working person to find a good job that pays a good salary. However, King states, “… we should rely on values of the American Dream: that anybody can climb out of hardship and achieve success” (615), in other words, King suggests that anyone can achieve success if they work hard, and this is the value of the American Dream. Weeds showed us that this statement is simply wrong because people can’t really achieve success if they work hard, as the two Americans in Weeds claimed, if people work hard it doesn’t promise they will achieve success.
