Do you think students should have their full week off for Thanksgiving? Well I know I do and my plan is in this essay is to show you why we should have our full weekend for Thanksgiving. My first reason is we shouldn't because if you take Monday and Tuesday you mess up family's that have planned to go somewhere they can't and they have to cancel and the bad part is those family's might not get their money back. And my lead to this is one day in fourth grade we had 30 students and like fifteen checked out on a day that was a Student/Staff holiday because we used our last snow day.…

At often times when a person is good at something or one does a good deed, he/she may feel as though one deserves recognition. In my opinion, I believe a person should always receive recognition for something one may be good at or for a good deed a person has done. When anyone is good at something or does something good, sometimes receiving recognition makes that person feel as though his or her talent or good deed is appreciated or noticed. Who doesn’t like to feel appreciated? It makes a person feel really good inside and it also may drive that person to keep doing whatever he or she has done, which makes everyone happy in the end.…

I strive to always be conscious of good things that happen for me and to always make others aware of my thankfulness. This strength is one I find to be beneficial in good and bad situations, as it makes the good situations better and it helps me to see that even in the bad situations I am still blessed. I do my best to make sure my friends and family are always aware of how grateful I am for them and the love they bring into my life. This is a strength I rely on greatly, especially now as I have moved ten hours away from my entire family, it is even more important that they understand how grateful I am for them. I find gratitude is beneficial to my emotional health because being grateful helps me to begin a cycle of feeling positive emotions which makes me feel more peace and positivity in my…

Article Review “Beyond Reciprocity: Gratitude and Relationships in Everyday Life” an article by Sara B. Algoe, Jonathan Haidt and Shelly L. Gable is aiming to show how gratitude may shape new relationships and the quality of those relationships we choose to keep in the future. This seems to be becoming a more relevant topic because it is somewhat abstract, and could really show us how we create meaningful relationships with others and how first impressions mean more than we think. According to this article there has not been much research, either correlational or experimental, done on the effects of gratitude towards new and ongoing relationships. But what has been looked at is the motivations of the recipient of the gratuitous gesture to…
