Before taking the Value in Action- Inventory of Strengths test, I thought to be helpful and honest was my top two strengths. After I completed the self-assessment test, my top two strengths are gratitude and judgment. Honesty didn’t follow too far behind my other two strengths. My weakness on the test was bravery, which I didn’t think would be at the bottom of the list. Despite my weakness of bravery, puts me in a dilemma, my strengths of gratitude and judgment allows the perspective of myself to be viewed more. Gratitude means being thankful for the possessions you have, or the people in your life. Someone that I’m thankful for is my mother. I am my mother’s only child, and she tries her best do any and everything for me, even when sometimes

Upon completing the StrengthsFinder survey, it is determined my 5 greatest strengths are the learner, achiever, competition, strategic, and relator, all of which I expected (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). While reading the text I examined the various themes of different strengths, relating closely to the 5 assigned by the survey, I am impressed by how well the explanations were written in the book, Strengths Quest Second Edition. The text in correlation with the materials provided from the StrengthsFinder survey brought forth meaning and depth into finding out exactly the type of person I am. Learning is listed as my top strength in the survey (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). I believe I have used that trait extensively throughout…

I thought the Survey of Character Strengths was an interesting survey to take. My first and second strengths were not particularly surprising to me, however my third was not what I necessarily expected it to be, but I am certainly not unhappy with it. All three strengths are values I have always admired because I have grown up watching my parents and older siblings showcase all three. I have consciously tried to emulate their example regarding these strengths and it was intriguing and encouraging to see all three show up in the survey. I was glad to see which strength showed up as my top, as kindness and generosity are especially important to me.…

It was designed to see where your strengths and weakness in character would be. I went into this assessment feeling very confident, I truly feel that I have strong character, my character is extremely important to me, I was though very surprised by order of what was my strongest point of character. The survey said that my top strength was fairness, equity and justice, as I do value these qualities, I just didn’t feel that these would be my top. I thought my top strength would be honesty, authenticity and geniuses, but this turned out to be number four on the list. Being honesty and integrity is everything to me, if I tell someone I will do something my word is like gold, and I have zero tolerance for people who are not honesty, I have always told all five of my children that if you can’t speak the truth then don’t speak at…
