Vals Type Survey Analysis

Decent Essays
The VALS Type survey placed me in the primary group of Achievers. The Achievers group are believed to be very introvert and all about family first attitude. Achievers are very committed to family and job. They believe that money is the source of authority, hardworking, and professional. Achievers are also fully scheduled, goal oriented, moderate, peer conscious, private about everything, act as anchor of the status quo, and value technology that provides a productivity boost. Overall, Achievers are very resourceful and have high motivations of achievements.
I would have to say that I agreed with the survey placing me in this group. I see myself as someone who is very family oriented and I am very compassionate about my job. I am

Some may say that work does not affect your home life. People also may say that it is very easy to separate their job and home. Is this true? Can a paramedic forget the tragic scene he had to work strenuous hours on when he gets home? How about a Lineman; he/she will get called out at all hours of the night, is it possible for these human beings to turn off their work like a light switch when they come home?…

In childhood and early adulthood, there are plenty of people willing to share their advice about nearly everything in a youth’s life. Yet, it is somewhat rare to find an individual who not only offers their advice when it is applicable, but also exemplifies an upstanding citizen not only of their community, but also of humanity. I was fortunate enough to meet someone matching that description. His name is Scott Woodhouse, and he is my debate coach. I’ll forever be glad that, largely by chance, he was my advisory teacher, and was able to provide an example of devotion, thoughtfulness, and morality.…

At what cost do we define success? Americans have been considered extremely successful for many decades; as a result, the “American dream” has been sought after by many. An attempt to identify all the possible factors and behaviors that have contributed to that success could consume a large quantity of time. Some people may point to the prevalent career centered approach in life as a key to an individual’s ability to succeed. However, I believe that this career centered approach has made us a very robotic and unhappy society; consequently, placing a diminished worth on certain values such as family and other personal relationships.…

Zachery Roberson Virtues and Actions I participated in taking a survey created by the University of Pennsylvania to evaluate your personality on 24 different characteristics. The purpose of the questionnaire is to find which of the 24 character traits are your strengths. The survey is 240 questions long and is comprised of a series of statements, most of these statements ask how much you think the statement sounds like you, but several of them ask how other people see you. After taking the test, it listed several of my strongest character traits, the top 3 traits being perspective wisdom, self-control and self-regulation, and love of learning. When looking at the reading the description of what perspective wisdom is, I would say that it isn 't describing the correct attribute.…

The analysis results from the various self-assessments have afforded me the opportunity to notice hidden aspects about myself. I have been able to perform contemplative and thorough self-examinations of my personality in order to determine viable methods to enrich my overall personality. It has been my experience that organizational behavior in many ways are similar to the institutionalized behaviors exhibited by those in orphanages or prisons. The similarities reside in the fact that the workplace is an environment where people from very different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and religious beliefs find themselves compartmentalized into an environment, directed towards a new way of life and then ordered to play nice…
