1. No, I do not see any validity in the swoon theory. My rationale for this is that how could anyone survive a crucifixion, when the romans had perfected this type of execution. Furthermore, if any solider allowed a prisoner to escape they would be given the death penalty. This is something that could not have happened because the romans were very meticulous in their procedures. Even if he did just faint he was wrapped up, put into a tomb, and 3 days later he awoke. For someone to not realize that he was alive would cause one to believe that all the people involved were idiots and this couldn’t have been the case.
