Validity and Reliability
Validity and reliability go hand in hand throughout the research process. “Reliability and validity are the most important qualities in the decision-making process. (Boswell & Cannon, 2014, p. 302). Without either of these elements, the research presented cannot be relied upon to give educated knowledge to the person reading about the subject. “The credibility of the research undertaken is based on the thoroughness of the data reported, appropriateness of the statistical tests performed, and accurate interpretation of the findings” (Hoe & Hoare, 2012, p. 56).
