Valentine's Motivations

Decent Essays
I want to take this time to examine and discuss Valentine's motivations. I already talked to you guys at long length about how stupid and infecctual Valentine is as an antagonist. Now, I want to talk further about how idiotic his motivations are. So he's a shadowhunter who thinks all Downworlders should be murdered because they were originally derrived from Demons. This makes no sense! If he hates Downworlders so much because of their demonic origins, then why the fuck is he using pure demons as his minions?

Is Valentine's prejdudice is just against demons as a whole as the passage is trying to infer, or is he against mixing species? Hodge says that Valentine wanted to keep the world pure for human beings. Yet, the question I ask is why?

One of the first examples of Valentine’s incredible intelligence is in chapter two, on page 13, it says, “’Oh, yes,’ said Valentine. ‘They’ll believe that. ‘I didn’t know it would kill Andrew. And when he was dead, I didn’t know it would kill Valentine too.’” Although Ender and Valentine were being threatened by Peter, Valentine was smart enough to say this to Peter because she knew, logically, that it would make no sense if Peter went through with his plans to hurt his siblings.…

In November, a New York police officer named Larry DePrimo bought a homeless man a pair of boots for the winter. The homeless man was later found to be a panhandler who would rather live begging on the streets than let anyone help him. In the article "Holiday Compassion Can Hurt". Micheal Medved tells readers that it would be better to donate their money to an organization, rather than giving it to just anyone on the streets . I would agree with the author in saying not to trust random people with the money we give to them.…

Personal Intrinsic Motivators When intrinsic motivation is present, it can have a strong influence on an individual’s behaviour. In healthcare, this gives rise to individuals who are dedicated and passionate about their work. Manion (2011) identified five intrinsic motivators that influence professional behaviour: “healthy relationships, meaningful purpose, competence, choice and progress” (p. 297) and in this instance, all five were present. Workplace engagement is in place when the presence of these factors serves to stimulate and inspire individuals to achieve happiness in their professional lives.…
