23 is a lot of times to be repeatedly poked by a stranger with a needle but, “a child may receive up to 23 shots by the time he or she is 2 years of age” (Giving Multiple Vaccines to Children is Safe, 2009, p. 1). Vaccines may have been useful in the past to prevent life-changing diseases such as smallpox, but in the current day, there is no need to inject children with harmful substances, such as mercury, which can lead to permanent brain retardation, just to prevent diseases that may be completely extinct. Yet still it’s stated on the Daily Beast (2017), “children receive vaccines to prevent 14 different diseases; now they can receive as many as 26 inoculations early in life and 5 at one time” (p. 1). Some children might …show more content…
“A number of compelling studies show that when you contract a disease naturally- chickenpox, for instance- the immune system becomes very active, kills the virus and then quickly goes back into a resting state. These studies show that natural infection gives a person lifelong immunity to the disease; no booster shots needed” (Blaylock, 2012, p.3). A human’s body is just naturally built to learn to protect itself against outside intruders, and vaccines are ruining the chance to do that. “Even worse, studies show that many of the vaccines, such as the mixed vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella and Haemophilus influenzae type b, actually suppress immunity” (Blaylock, 2012, p.3). The Daily Beast agrees, children are too young to be vaccinated and it’s not necessary for them because, in the womb the live in a sterile environment, and once entered into the real world, they create immune system to the thousands of bacteria they are bombarded with, thus not needing the injections (Are Children Getting Too Many Vaccines, 2017). Instead, because some are so compelled by the mask of vaccines, children will be required to get a booster shot throughout their lifetime, costing them more money, and causing them to be more uncomfortable. Immunity through shots only lasts up to 10 years, and after that time period, a booster shot is needed (Blaylock,
