An anthropologist could understand the reasoning within the community. What is within that community that bolsters skepticism? What is discouraging people from vaccinating, which is a common practice? Individual rights, religious views, and mistrust in the government are factors an anthropological perspective could consider to understand why people are antivaccination. Anthropologists could also consider the influence of the internet, social media, and celebrity endorsements. Being able to provide a proper way to communicate the importance of vaccination is crucial to turning people in favor of the vaccines. For example, a pharmaceutical spokesperson advocating for vaccinations could be perceived as only wanting to inject as many vaccines into a child as possible for profit. Through anthropological analysis one may find a parent advocating for the importance of vaccinations could be a better alternative to communicate with the community. Anthropological perspective is beneficial to the attack against vaccines because it could provide an understanding to why a community rejects the science behind vaccines and what can be done to communicate with a community.
