“Most childhood vaccines are 90 to 99 percent effective in preventing disease” (vaccines.procon.org). Some parents choose to ignore all of the benefits that come from vaccinating their children and take it upon themselves to make the rash decision to not get their child vaccinated. Whether it is intentional or not parents who refuse to vaccinate their children are putting every other child in danger to be exposed to disease. Many parents choose to not vaccinate their children think vaccines are harmful even though there are numerous studies proving otherwise. Putting vaccines to use more in poorer countries can help to save “...an average of 6.2 billion dollars in treatment”(vaccines.procon.org). Spending money on treatments for sick people with all kinds of diseases would end up costing much more money than it would cost to put money towards vaccinating everyone against diseases. Spending money on vaccinations is a short term cost while spending money on disease treatments is a never ending cost. Poorer countries could save a tremendous amount of money not having to spend money on treating all the sicknesses caused from not getting vaccines. This matter is agreed upon the government especially since it is forced by the law. In addition, “vaccination is the only medical procedure & medical product that is forced by law” (know-vaccines.org). The law forces parents to vaccinate their children because it does have very many benefits and it prevents a tremendous amount of chaos. Parents think it is wrong for the government to force vaccinations on civilians, but the government is not only thinking about the economic benefits, they are also thinking about the safety and protection of all children. Vaccines do carry some risks, but the benefits outweigh the risks by a long shot. The law requires vaccines for children because it is the safer and smarter route. The government thinks about the effects of all children and getting vaccinated is the best way to ensure that a disease outbreak will not
