Vacation Experience

It was a blistering summer day in July of 2016, my friend, Elizabeth, and I arrived in Ocean City, Maryland, for a three day vacation at my family condo. This was a girls week with no parents. I have seen many people diving into the big waves, but I have never tried that myself. My parents would never allow me to try it. So, with a week of no parents I made it my goal, and I was going to make it happen. I was scared but egar to dive into ocean waves. Elizabeth was already experienced with diving, so she was going to teach me. It was about sunrise on Monday morning, i can hear beach waves crashing from the condo porch, seagulls chirping, and i was ready for my big day to start. We ate breakfast before packing up for the beach. We made sandwhichs, …show more content…
I was so petrified to go in the water, I never wanted to experience that feeling ever again. I thought I was going to drown. This experience has left me with a fear of water. For the remaining days of vacation I sat in my beach chair under, under an umbrella. While, I watched elizabeth and many others dive into waves. I was upset that I couldn’t be like them. It has been a little over a year since this happened, and I was fortunate enough to not be left with any scars, only a nightmare of experience. However, my parents eventually found out when we took a family vacation this year to Ocean City, Maryland, and I was afraid to go into the water. I explained to my mom what had happened, she was dissapointed that I kept this incident a secret, but, she said “It could have been much worse that it was,” and she was correct. The whole vacation I was trying to be a bit more adventours, and go into the water. I only got as far as putting my beach chair near the shoreline so my toes can touch the water. Im trying to get over my fear, because the beach has always been my favorite vacation destination. In the end never do something your parents don’t approve of, they know what is best for

I remember my uncle taking my cousins and I to Duns River Falls in Jamaica. At the bottom of the falls he took me from the shallow ends to the deep end, a good area where my head remained above the water if I stood on my tippy toes. My uncle laid his arms underneath me and taught me to relax and float. From time to time he would slowly remove his arms, allowing me to float without his support. I would freak out when I realized that his arms where no longer there holding me.…

EN 281 Setting and characterization It was about 6 a.m. Saturday morning and it is an extremely beautiful morning; one of the mornings that makes you stop and realize just how amazing it is at that particular moment in the world. Everything from how nice the summer breeze felt on a freshly shaved face, how the cool water felt as it ran between the toes and bottom of your foot, the smell of fresh cut grass in air, the sounds, or lack of sound, that summer brings in when it is perfect outside. It is very quiet, the only sounds you can hear are the occasional birds chirping as they flew by, an occasional car driving by on the road behind you, a fish that surfaces time from time, the gentle sound of the water as the current brings it in and out,…

When we got there, I was immediately in love with the beach. Time seemed to stop, and all I could take in was the cold of the water around my ankles, and the exciting fact that I was actually there. It was so beautiful, and I don’t think I've ever seen something so BIG! The way the waves jumped and leaped over each other was amazing. We all ran to the shore and I slowly dipped my toe into the water, smiled at my mom, and leaped into the the blue waves.…
