Due to technological advancement there is a huge difference between the car's of the earlier generations, and the ones which we are driving now. Changes have been made to basic car designs, interior, braking systems, and the engines also.

Today, things have evolved in a much faster rate than we have imagined. The car part which has experienced the maximun transformation consistently over the years is the engine.

Engine is the most dynamic part of any car, and functions, similar to the heart in a human being. Actually it is the heart of the car. Over the years, the types of engines used in vintage cars to the engines that is being used now, have taken a huge leap in the form of technology that is being used now in them.

They are one of the most used part of a car, which escapes our attention till the last time. Moreover due to dirt and dust build up spark plugs get clogged, leading to starting problem in the car.

Expert recommended changing the spark plug every 30,000 miles, but some spark plugs can last a little longer. While changing the engine spark plugs, the wires must be changed also to ensure the best electrical current reaches the engine.

Checking for leaks & oil change

Oil leaks posses a great challenge to the proper functioning of the engine. If not identified, then it can cause severe damage to the engines. Infact, most of the engine seizeure cases are caused due to oil leaks.

Intense pressure and heat causes the engine hoses to fail, leading to leaks. Rubber engine hoses that are old and cracked can leak fluids that the engine requires. By looking under the hood, or checking under the car can indicate oil leaks.

However, the coolant is the most vital component among the others. Coolant helps in keeping the engine from overheating.

Coolant is a water based liquid that absorbs the heat from the engine, and keeps it cool. The heat is then transferred to the radiator located at the front of the car. Most of the engine failures in cars are attributed in some way to the cooling problems. To ensure that the engine is running at an optimal temperature, a coolant is used.

Cosequently, the coolant should be replaced every 2 to 3 years, or after the car has covered a distance of 24,000 to 36,000 miles.

Taking care of the air filter

An air filter function is to filter the air coming inside the car, so as to keep the debris & dust away from clogging the engine. Air filter is a critical part which requires regular maintenance. Over time, these filters can get clogged with dirt and need to be replaced.
