In the movie V for Vendetta the audience gets a look at how the ability to manipulate words can lead to power. Finch operated a program working on developing a virus used to obtain him power. When V is telling the story of how Finch comes into power he mentions how Creedy “suggests that their target should not be an enemy of the country but rather the country itself” (V for Vendetta). With that one suggestion tens of thousands were killed men, women, and children; as a result, the countries citizens became afraid. Taking advantage of the incident and portraying the narrative that it was an attack on their country. Finch was able to rise to power. Finch was not the only one who was able to gain power though words, V shines a light on the corruption
