The American Dream is dead, in fact, it was never alive. Donald Trump says he wants to resurrect it, but you cannot bring back something that was never alive. The dreams of all the other countries in the world are also on their way to failure, as the United States was. However the United States didn't have a clue, but England does. In 1982 Alan Moore published a series of comic books called V for Vendetta and a movie followed in 2006. (Moore) The movie takes place in London, England in the year of 2038. V then proceeds to play the song 1812 Overture across London and to blow up The Old Bailey, fireworks a flame. At the beginning of V for Vendetta Evey is shy and naive, with little knowledge of what the real world is like. She lives in a shell, much like the rest of the world, going along with whatever the crowd does. This all changes soon after she first meets V. No more than a week after The Old Bailey blows up, V invades the London Tower. He is about to escape the tower after making his victorious speech when a police officer stops him, Evey sneaks up behind and pepper sprays the policeman, allowing V to escape. Those who have watched the movie either like the character V, or they don't, although most will go on the side of liking him. People like him because he is different, out of the norm. The movie V for Vendetta itself is out of the norm, it's based of the idea of an anti establishment. Having no authority to run the country may seem crazy, but then again what is the government really doing for us? None of the leaders in the world have a set plan on how something will turn out. None of them have a purpose on why they want to run the country. V for Vendetta is diverse compared to other movies because it's not just meant to entertain the public, but to send a message. The message is telling the world to wake up. Stop stowing away form the real world, wake up and see the truth. It may not look like it now, but the world is falling apart. With no proper leader how is it to run? From the moment everyone was born, they were told what to be or what to do. From the beginning of the movie V for Vendetta Evey was told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it, much like the citizens in the world today. It is up to everyone if they also believe in this. A lot of people complain about how the world is not run right, yet they do nothing to contribute. “No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”(Change The World
