For example, if they are able to take someone cells who is in a comma to help create a vaccine for a disease that could help many other people all though the consequence of using that one person cells might lead in death, utilitarians will still do this and see it as perfectly normal. This action would be okay in society, of course the doctors would need to get consent from the family before taking the patient’s life due to ethics. According to Future of Working, an example of act utilitarianism is a pharmaceutical company releasing a drug that has been governmentally approved with known side effects because the drug is able to help more people than are bothered by the minor side effects. Act utilitarianism often shows “the end justifies the means” mentality. According to buzzle, Business class travelers pay a higher price for their flight than economy class travelers, if one really thought about this they would see that they do not offer that much more of service in business class.
