Usma Cadet And Army Officer Qualities

There are many important qualities and values an individual needs to have to become successful. Some of the major qualities are the ability to navigate new and changing technology, the ability to use economic resources wisely, a mind for innovation, and good timing, preparation and execution. All of these are great qualities to have, but in order to become a successful USMA cadet and Army officer, one needs to have character, leadership, discipline, loyalty, intelligence, and dedication. I believe that one needs to have character in order to become a successful USMA cadet and Army officer. Character is made up of many other traits, and each small trait is used as a building block in the construction of the foundation of one’s character. A person’s traits influence their character, and in turn, their character influence their traits. A person with good character can persevere through challenges and obstacles, and along the way, they acquire new traits and improve the ones they have. While adversity, challenges, and obstacles will break down the average person, the person with strong character – character containing discipline, integrity, honor, and respect – marches on, knocking down the obstacles and overcoming the adversity. …show more content…
You must be able to lead by example and inspire those who under your command and follow your orders. Some people are born leaders while for others it is a learned trait.
A good leader must also have a fair sense of discipline. Discipline must be applied with a fairly and evenly to all. The USMA and the Army would never survive for long without rigid discipline. The cadet and officer must apply discipline wisely and
