Using The Word Luck Analysis

I think using the word luck tends to dismiss the work that was done to get to a position of leadership. When we use the word luck we think of the lottery or other forms of gambling. This tends to degrade the word and put a taboo on it when talking about leaders. Someone as great as Andrew Carnegie had a little luck on his side, he worked for a great leader who helped grow him. Yes Carnegie put in immense amounts of work, but he was lucky enough to have a great mentor. The same could be said for Warren Buffet. I believe that everyone can agree he is a great investor and has worked hard to achieve the success he has had, but Buffet went to school and learned from who most people consider to best value investor in history.
