Teachers often rely on student engagement to measure the level of student interest as it is a predictor of student learning and development. Students that are engaged in the material and actively learning spend more time cognitively processing the material, therefore developing a deepened understanding of the material. Math, recognized second to reading, is another subject area that students with LD struggle academically.
