The aviation sector, locomotives, as well as, sea transit all utilize forms of diesel fuel in one way or another. Aviation fuel (Jet fuel), is a form of diesel fuel. The trucking industry is comprised of almost 100% diesel powered vehicles. This fuel provides a viable source due to the durability of the diesel engine. Diesel engines as a whole are often much heavier duty in strength by the way they are designed. The primary benefit of a diesel is high torque at low revolutions per minute (RPM). By achieving such high torque at a low RPM the engines do not rotate as fast which aids in longevity of the overall assembly. High toque is also the key to towing or hauling large quantities of weight. Thus the overall success of the diesel engine in commercial transportation. Diesel is a formidable solution, however, it is an aging solution and could potentially benefit from advancements the commuter transportation sector has

There are plenty of gasoline stations that offer diesel fuel available throughout America. According to Consumer Reports, “The U.S. Census Bureau reports that the percentage of gas stations selling diesel went up from about 35% in 1997 to more than half in 2007” (“Not That Easy”).
