It gives an open area for scribbling using a stylus or just a finger. According to Don Norman, an aesthetically-pleasing site actually relaxes the user. This relaxation has a physiological effect on the brain that facilitates learning, decision-making, and the mechanical functions required to interact with the site. Typography is more than selecting fonts. It is the study of how humans read, how they perceive information, how they recognize words and how the brain processes the information. Yes, it is an art but it is has its roots in human cognition. When it comes to designing for a website which is to be viewed through smart phones, it is always advisable to avoid decorative and overly elaborate fonts, such as scripts and novelty styles. Apart from typeface, giving comfortable space in between words is also important as too much space would break the flow and too little space would result in feeling cramped. The smaller the font size, the more space should be given in the leading to be perfectly legible. Space should provide the right amount of buffer for each readable thought. If we want elements to be read together, we can keep the space a little tighter and when the idea changes we can add extra space to give readers a break, before moving onto the next thing. According to UXPin, “Think of the words as bricks. Each word is a brick and the space between is mortar; even if the blocks are of varying sizes the space between each is rather uniform. This visualization can help you establish visual guidelines for how words should look, rather than what they say.” We should always remember that every printed word communicates two meanings; the literal definition and the emotion of the typography. Since different people interpret typography in different ways, just as they interpret a painting in different ways, we should never forget who our user personas. The main factor of Orangetheory Fitness’s future growth rests in repairing their effort to establish a community using the brand and social media involvement. The first factor that Orangetheory’s Ann Arbor locations need to consider is the target audience for community growth efforts. It seems that the strategy and scope used to reach the social media target audience does not match the desired target audience for both Ann Arbor locations. However, the lack of diversity is stemming from social media content that is ubiquitous among all Orangetheory Fitness social media, not just the Ann Arbor location’s social media. Thus, it seems that this content is corporate created content, and as a result, it appears the target audience of the national brand of Orangetheory Fitness is not aligned with the Ann Arbor target audience.…

Throughout the essay of Does texting affect writing by Michaela Cullington, she has many repetitions on how when it comes to texting, many people feel that you lose your sense of emotion or even to display or write emotion. Many people display their emotion throughout text with small sideways smiley faces and some people think that isn’t a proper way to display emotion because when it comes to trying to express your emotion in writing with proper usage of grammar and format, it is not looked upon to use symbolism as such a smiley face. Another thing that comes up very often is neglect of formal language. Many people who text often have gotten used to not having to text or write formally over the phone to their friends or family so they neglect…
