Growing up comes with respect and better uses of words. In chapter 9 Scout had quoted” Pass the damn ham”pg.105. She was trying to be bigger and likes the uses the words because she thought it was ok and liked to uses them but her dad not uncle were having that. Scouts uncles stated”I’ll be here a week, and I don’t want to hear any words like that while i’m here”. I said this was a lesson because he also said” You want to grow up to be a lady” by this statement I felt I meant to be appropriate with your words.
