Use Of Satire In S. Morgenstern's The Princess Bride

In the novel The Princess Bride S. Morgenstern writes satirical remarks about world stereotypes and compares them with the novel. Morgenstern writes using satires because they mock, they are funny, and it grabs the reader's attention. Morgenstern uses satires to show that a person could be who they want to be and should not care about others comments. In the next passages I will explain how his satirical remarks reflect on today’s society. I will talk about why people have to buy brand names, how society thinks outside beauty is everything, and why an adult should never let a child decide anything about their life.
In the book and in today’s society it is necessary to have all the brand names to be able to fit in with everyone else and always be on top of all the new trends. If you do not have all the name brands people will laugh in others face, and say they can not talk to them because they’re not as well off as others. In the quote “He was ashamed of his attire, worn boots and torn blue jeans.”(page 52) he says he is ashamed of what he is wearing because he is wearing worn down clothing and he is meeting the Count and the Countess. He says, “I’m not marrying any bald princess, and that’s that.”(page 88) he is being so picky before he said that she had on a hat so that no one could see her bald head, but when he saw it the dinner was over. It is also says, “She was the most beautiful woman in a hundred years. She didn’t seem to care.” (page 69) even though she is the most beautiful in a hundred years she does not seem to care the only ones who care are the men.
