Peer pressure influences teens by making teens want to fit in with other people. Laurie Anderson, the author of “Speak,”Melinda's Counselor is saying not to give into Peer Pressure and just be yourself. In the book, Melinda is influenced into Drinking by her so called friends. I have experienced Peer pressure in 8th grade to smoke weed. Me and Melinda and I have been peer pressured into drinking, except I didn't drink I just left (Halse). Melinda handled the pressure by giving in to what they Peer Pressured her to do. She could have not drank and just left. I handled the Peer Pressure by not giving in. Her teachers could've helped by talking to her and helping her to make the right choice. You can get friends/adults to help by telling
