8. Distract Yourself

Sometimes nothing you do can stop those negative thoughts, worry, fear, and anxiety from coming. This is when you have to take control and distract yourself. Don 't just sit around and stew in those thoughts because that is a complete waste of time. Instead, get busy doing something else.

- Watch a funny movie that demands your focus.

- Take a nap.

- Go out and shop.

- Phone a friend.

- Work on creating something that demands your focus.

- Use a guided meditation or hypnosis MP3 (don 't try to do it alone because you won 't be able to focus).

- Get an adult coloring book and let your thoughts drift away as you color in-between the lines.

There are a ton of things you can do, but the trick is to take your mind off your worries and get busy doing

Social anxiety occurs when you fear social situations. Since so much of our day is spent interacting with other people, social anxiety can be a huge roadblock to peace of mind.

If you are living with this disorder, it 's important to know that you can overcome it. Using the right techniques, you can limit the stress you have around social interactions and free up your mind to focus on other things, such as things you enjoy, need to do, or want to do.

14. Do What You Need To Do

Putting things off is detrimental to your peace of mind. You will always have something to think about, worry about, and be anxious about if there are still things on your to-do list. It 's impossible to stay in the moment if you can 't stop thinking about what needs to be done.

The best way to get it done is to do it quickly. Do those things that you always put off as soon as you get up - or as soon as you can. Even if it feels hard to do, having the mentality 'I better get it over with! ' is better than 'I will put it off until later! ' You will feel much better once it is done.
