Not only does it appeal to ethos and logos but it also appeals to pathos to legitimately connect with those reading or watching what was going on during the mission. The author made themselves credible because they were writing for the London Times newspaper. In which is a very plausible source for information on events. By seeing that statement, it made the author seem like a trustworthy and informed source right off the bat. The occasion is the commentary written for the objectivist. The audience are the readers of the Objectivist and the people who were there for the launch. The purpose of this text is to express how the launch of the rocket ship affected people and how this event in scientific history was the first step towards becoming more efficient in technology of the world. The subject is not only the launch of the first ever space ship that was sent into outer space, but it was also all the events leading up to the Apollo 11 launch. Rand appealed to ethos because she wrote about the true events of the launch which makes her credible because she knows what actually happened during the launch. Logos were appealed to because she stated at the end how humans can do anything and how much power one person can have.
