The well-known author and poet Maya Angelou once said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” She speaks of the abundance and endlessness of creativity in this quote, and truly there are immeasurable applications of creativity. Anything from painting, to sketching, to writing can be considered a demonstration of creativity. I myself would be able to use the word creativity to describe many activities that I make an effort to include in my life. To me, the meaning of creative applies most directly to my love of art. To me, writing is like a bridge between the creativity of my brain and the concrete results yielded in the form of essays short stories, and poems. Writing is an exceptional creative outlet, and there is enjoyment in both the creation and seeing others enjoy the outcomes. Personally, I enjoy reading and writing works of fiction the most. I’ve written short stories describing random events in life, I’ve written extensive histories of worlds I created, and I’ve even drawn characters just so I could describe them and give them all interconnecting backstories. I have found that through writing, I can channel my creativity in extremely unique ways because in writing, I can have my own style, my own word choice, and my own world to describe however I see fit. I love seeing different kinds of writing in books as well. For example, the contrast between the style of J.R.R. Tolkien with his trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, and the more modern style of J.K. Rowling with her world renowned Harry Potter series, is remarkably distinct, and yet I enjoy both authors’ works like no other. That is the beauty of the creativity in writing, one can appreciate multiple forms whether it be a novel, a song, or a poem. This diverse repertoire of creativity is why I love to contribute my writings and my humble creations to the
